Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a growing Glasgow-based organisation to recruit a Lead Finance Business Partner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious organisation, leading a small team of newly qualified and part-qualified accountants. The post-holder will be adept at influencing non-finance stakeholders and will play a role in shaping in the organisation’s strategy. The purpose of the role is to produce insightful analysis, partner on issue resolution and continuously improve processes and procedures.

Duties:

  • Lead and shape the delivery of strategic planning, ensuring that budgets support the strategic objectives of the organisation, ensuring financial targets are robust
  • Lead on the consolidation of all budget inputs for review by the Head of Finance and Chief Operating Officer, ensuring that key milestones are delivered
  • Lead on the monthly consolidation and reporting of financial results, ensuring early identification of any deviance from budget/ forecast, the preparation of impact analyses and providing expert support on appropriate risk management plans
  • Review and challenge the monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations providing the necessary reports
  • Provide direct support to the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Directors for ad hoc requests and expert analysis required to support decision-making and the development of strategy
  • This will include sourcing, analyzing, and evaluating financial information and presenting findings and recommendations to inform and support strategic decision-making
  • Promote a continuous improvement approach, ensuring that behaviours and attitudes reflect University values, demonstrating a culture of ownership and accountability
  • Act as the Division’s primary contact in relation to internal and external audits ensuring compliance with all legislative, best practice with corporate financial requirements and procedures
  • Play a critical role in the development of options appraisals and business plans/business cases, providing robust financial challenge and ensuring that all business cases progressed withstand scrutiny and contain measurable delivery and review criteria
  • Promote financial awareness and a culture of financial accountability in all interactions to ensure financial sustainability is central to all business activities
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance where relevant and fulfil any other duties that may reasonably be required

On Offer:

  • Salary £57,000-£64,000
