Investment Analyst – Real Estate

Rutherford Cross is partnering with a private equity firm that invest in commercial real estate in Edinburgh. Due to demonstrable growth the firm are looking to appoint an Investment Analyst. This is a crucial role for the business as they continue to grow and a fantastic opportunity for an accountant to move into a real estate private equity environment.

You may well be currently in an accounting or banking role and keen to develop commercially. This opportunity would allow you to work on deals and target opportunistic returns. This is an exceptional opportunity to work within a dynamic business and it will provide an accelerated career path within an opportunistic deals environment within real estate. Working within a small focused team you will have the opportunity to get far closer to the deals and assets than within a traditional PE firm and have opportunity to shape the role over time. No day is ever the same and you will get involved with the sourcing and screening of new investments, assisting with performance analysis of existing investments, asset management and assessing the correct disposals strategy to maximise return.

Working with a highly experienced team you would be offered structured learning in managing assets within a real estate environment, undertaking  a fast tracked investment program to learn about the industry. Our client is looking for bright, highly numerate individuals with the ability to form effective working relationships within the team and wider market. You must be able to demonstrate that you are a hard working self-starter who can thrive in a challenging and stimulating environment.

You could be working within investment or a newly qualified accounting professional who has ambitions to move into corporate finance or private equity that specialises in real estate. Crucially you will be able to demonstrate your energy, drive and enthusiasm for this opportunity and the desire to enhance your expertise and knowledge. The role demands strong analytical and creative problem- solving abilities as well as self-confidence and excellent communication skills.

The role will be based in Edinburgh. There will be some travel required to see potential and existing investments.
