Description
Our client is a global business and well known employer in the Scottish Borders region who are looking to recruit an Internal Auditor. The purpose of the role will be to lead the internal audits within the business and ensure that overall policies and procedures are effective and meet the requirements of the Audit Committee, the board and external auditors.
This role will require approx. 7 weeks travel each year which will be split between 7 different countries and will require an element of flexibility around short notice requirements in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits on a variety of internal activities mainly focused on financial and operation areas.
- Develop recommendations to close identified control gaps.
- Working with senior management to define financial/operations policies and procedures and assist with implementation globally.
- Facilitate the work of external auditors during on-site visits.
- Keep abreast of external best practice, specifically SOX and JSOX, and translate requirements into company practice
Candidate requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA)
- Knowledge of accounting and IT systems
- Exposure to multiple audit environments
- Knowledge of SOX/JSOX (desirable)
