Rutherford Cross has been engaged by a growing, forward thinking, fast paced financial services organisation looking to add head count into their internal audit team for a newly created post. Reporting directly to the Group Audit Director you will take responsibility for delivering a number of risk reviews and projects across the business and will actively support the development and management of junior members of the team. Key areas will include regulatory, operational and risk. The Role
An exciting opportunity for someone who has a solid internal audit background preferably from a financial services background although candidates from a commercial audit background will be considered. You will work with senior management and report to the Board/Audit Committee focusing on identifying and mitigating strategic, operational, financial and compliance risks.
You will develop the audit plan and will promote a good governance culture throughout the organisation. Key responsibilities will include delivering the audit plan through planning, executing, and delivering audit reviews. This will include executing fieldwork by conducting testing and, supervising the activities performed by both internal staff and the third-party internal auditors performing the fieldwork. You will prepare the audit report and present findings to the Audit Committee and will have line management responsibilities.
In order to be considered for the position you will need to have a core internal audit background. Exposure to change/integration audits or technology is desirable but not essential.
You will maintain a professional qualification: CA/ACA/IIA/CIA/CISA or equivalent.
You will be a confident communicator, with the ability to influence stakeholders throughout the business and will have a good understanding of current internal audit practices and methodology. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to coach and mentor junior members of staff.
Salary: £50-£65k
