Description

X2 Interim System Accountant jobs (Hybrid) with an established, global organisation based in Glasgow for an initial 12-month period.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and gather functional and non-functional requirements for the Finance Data Warehouse
  • Developing and maintaining SQL queries, scripts and reports to meet reporting and analysis needs
  • Collaborating with finance and accounting teams to understand their reporting requirements and provide appropriate solutions
  • Supporting colleagues in User Acceptance Testing activities to ensure testing is performed efficiently and that high-quality outputs are produced
  • Conducting data analysis and validation to ensure data integrity, identify anomalies and resolve any discrepancies
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance data accuracy and efficiency
  • Providing first-line technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues and engaging effectively with IT support teams as required
  • Ensuring that appropriate controls and reconciliations are performed and that they are compliant with the organisation’s financial policies and relevant external standards
  • Assisting with external and internal audit requests as required

To apply, you will be a Qualified or ‘Qualified by Experience’ Accountant with excellent analytical skills and prior experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of reporting and business intelligence, combined with competence in utilising SQL to develop queries. Experience required also includes business analysis, including gathering requirements, conducting process analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement. Proficiency in data modelling and data integration is also beneficial. This role offers a 50 / 50 hybrid working model.
