Description
Interim Senior Working Capital Accountant job (Hybrid) with a leading Glasgow based organisation for a 6-month period. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
- Ownership of the working capital function including management and review of Cashflow to ensure business continuity
- Performing periodic cash flow analysis
- Performing detailed analysis on capital, cashflows and ratios to assist the Senior Reporting Accountant on the budgeting and forecasting process
- Reviewing P2P processes and make continual improvements where possible to ensure best endeavours are made to suppliers within timescales
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes
- Supporting the accurate and timely production of financial returns required for financial reporting, including statutory reporting, internal reporting, reporting to partners/Group/other stakeholders
- Reviewing comprehensive reconciliations and appropriate controls, hierarchy changes and delegated authorities as directed to maintain the integrity of the Ledger
- Preparing and posting journal entries to the Ledger as required
- Reviewing journals posted to the ledger by Finance Assistants
- Reviewing VAT and Corporation tax returns and analysis ensuring these meet timescales
- Working with FP&A team through the Business Partnering approach to perform strategic review projects across the business
- Reviewing and adhering to company accounting policies and proposing any updates
- Identifying control weaknesses, recommending control procedures to reduce risk, and developing procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Ownership and control of the company credit card process, including financial control and administration
- Ownership of the payment process including approving and processing the payments
- Management and development of direct reports dependent on specific duties undertaken
To apply, you will be a fully Qualified Accountant with strong technical skills and prior experience managing and delivering a high performing team. The purpose of this role is to perform and oversee financial accounting and control duties within the working capital function and includes periodic and statutory cashflow reporting, compliance matters, balance sheet reconciliations, technical accounting, and other ad hoc finance projects. Strong Excel skills and finance systems experience are key for this role. Hybrid working.
