Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a high-growth FMCG business based in Glasgow for the appointment of an Interim Payroll Manager on an initial 3–6-month contract basis, with potential to become permanent.

As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of weekly and monthly payrolls for a large, dynamic workforce. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and can hit the ground running.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing of 1,400+ weekly and 80+ monthly payroll
  • Oversee and support two Payroll Supervisors in their day-to-day responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, pensions, HMRC submissions, etc
  • Use and maintain the Miracle payroll system
  • Maintain payroll records, reports, and reconciliations accurately and timely
  • Identify opportunities for payroll process improvements and implement efficiencies
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data and reporting
  • Respond to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience managing high-volume payrolls in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience overseeing both weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
  • Ability to work autonomously and solve problems proactively
