Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a high-growth FMCG business based in Glasgow for the appointment of an Interim Payroll Manager on an initial 3–6-month contract basis, with potential to become permanent.
As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of weekly and monthly payrolls for a large, dynamic workforce. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the processing of 1,400+ weekly and 80+ monthly payroll
- Oversee and support two Payroll Supervisors in their day-to-day responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, pensions, HMRC submissions, etc
- Use and maintain the Miracle payroll system
- Maintain payroll records, reports, and reconciliations accurately and timely
- Identify opportunities for payroll process improvements and implement efficiencies
- Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data and reporting
- Respond to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience managing high-volume payrolls in a fast-paced environment
- Experience overseeing both weekly and monthly payrolls
- Strong Excel skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
- Thorough knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
- Ability to work autonomously and solve problems proactively
