Interim Head of Financial Accounting job with our Public Sector client based in Edinburgh. This role is for a period of 6 months to lead the organisation through its year end in March 2015.

You will be responsible for:

• Overseeing all finance transactional activities and staff management of the Financial Services team
• Preparing monthly financial accounts
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Co-ordinating and planning the year end schedules
• Producing the year end accounts and liaising with external auditors
• Reviewing internal controls and procedures suggesting and driving improvements
• Analysis of Payroll information and reconciling to the general ledger

You will be a Qualified Accountant, with strong staff management experience. It is essential that you will have worked previously in the public sector. The client is ideally looking to appoint this post before Christmas.
