Interim Head of Communications job with our central Scotland based client who provides a vital service in the social care sector.
Reporting to the Board and a Director who all have a background in Social Care, this role is key to the development of this pioneering and vital service offering to communities across Scotland. The role will be for an initial 3 months but with prospects of extending beyond this period.
The Role:
The post would require a confident and competent communications professional, who could take the leading role in using social media and other strands of publicity to reach out to the target group and enable them to engage with the Charity. This would include, but not be limited to, creating digital engagement / marketing strategy and content, building on the aims and ethos of the Trust. The role includes hands on content creation, as well as strategy and planning.
The Person:
Our client is looking for someone who is technically proficient in content creation, including video / photography/ design, website management and who has the confidence and enthusiasm to work as part of a very small team to carry out the brief, with support from the wider group of companies where needed. The ideal person will be highly motivated and prepared to be imaginative and proactive in their approach.
Knowledge / Experience envisaged would include:
- Proven experience in digital engagement
- Ability to create exciting and relevant content using high quality video, photography, design
- Strong understanding of engagement and social media marketing techniques, including content creation, community management, and advertising
- Experience of engaging followers through digital platforms
- Experience of managing social media accounts across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube
- Experience with social media management tools (such as Hootsuite) and social media advertising platforms (such as Facebook Ads Manager)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting and editing
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, or Sprout Social) and ability to use data to inform decisions
We would welcome applicants who meet the above requirements. This role will have occasional travel to London and central Scotland but can largely be delivered remotely.
