Rutherford Cross is working with an SME business in Glasgow who have gone through a period of change and as such are now seeking an Interim Financial Controller to join their team on an initial period of 6 months however there could be the opportunity to extend or to move to a permanent contract. This Financial Controller job will be mainly responsible for leading the finance team and ensuring that all monthly and yearly reporting is completed accurately as well as ensuring processes are fit for purpose and compliant. A summary of key duties are below:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting commentary
• Leading on the year-end financial accounts process including liasing with Auditors
• Managing a transactional team including purchase/sales ledger, payroll and credit control
• Assessment of processes and making improvements where required

This job will require a fully qualified accountant with recent experience in financial accounting and also the ability to mentor and lead a team. This role will provide broad exposure where you will have regular interaction with the Managing Director and CFO so strong communication skills are key. Being commercial will be important as you will be working with other areas outside of finance to support growth.  On offer is a long term interim role with the possibility of permanent which will start asap and is offering a competitive day rate.
