Interim Financial Accountant role (Hybrid / Remote) with an SME based in Argyll & Bute for an initial 3–6-month period.

Reporting to Deputy Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the month-end financial processes and timetable, identifying efficiencies and implementing change as required
• Assisting and reviewing the production of the monthly management accounts for your business areas, providing statistical analysis and variance to plan reporting and commentary
• Managing the Balance Sheet Reconciliation review process, keeping recs up to date and reporting any corrective action is taken
• Preparing bids and budgets ensuring full cost analysis and recovery to create effective, profitable and value for money submissions
• Reviewing monthly project costing report
• Designing, maintaining and communicating financial reports to other budget holders on monthly basis, highlighting area of concern and transactional investigation

To apply, you will be a Qualified or “Qualified by Experience” Accountant with substantial financial reporting experience within complex environments. The role will require excellent Excel skills combined with good financial systems knowledge. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. This role will be primarily remote with occasional travel to the office.
