Description

Interim Finance Manager job (Qualified) with our public sector client based in the West of Scotland for a 12-month period.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:

  • Revenue and Capital Budgeting: Assist with the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of the revenue and capital budgets, ensuring consistency with service and team plans. Support budget holders and managers in containing costs within budgets and in reviewing financial performance
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide regular financial information and analysis to managers, helping to identify financial issues and develop solutions. Develop reports on financial performance to support decision-making and ensure service managers' information needs are met
  • Project Support: Provide financial advice and support for infrastructure projects, business case development, and post-implementation reviews
  • Tax Management: Ensure compliance with VAT and other tax legislation, identifying potential risks and opportunities related to taxes
  • Financial Accounting: Develop and implement accounting policies, ensuring compliance with statutory and professional guidance. Oversee the preparation and audit of the organisation’s financial statements, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Treasury Management: Manage the organisation’s capital financing, developing policies to balance risk and return, and ensuring cash flow needs are met
  • Staff Management: Act as line manager for direct reports within team

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Fully Qualified (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW etc.)
  • Public or Charity Sector accounting experience
  • Experience of providing financial advice and preparing and monitoring budgets in a complex organisation
  • Experience of presenting financial information to senior managers
  • Experience of staff management
  • Available from May 2025

On Offer:

  • £300 - £400 p/d (inside IR35)
