Description

Interim Finance Administrator job with our Edinburgh based client for a 6 month period. This role will report directly to the Finance Business Partner. The key responsibilities are:

  • Provision of month end accounting routines, monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and statistical information as required
  • Co-ordinate bench fee accounts and related sales invoices, including reconciling accounts at year-end and as required
  • Maintain clear and accurate records for audit purposes, both internally complying with internal regulations and externally complying with sponsors requirements and additional provision of detail
  • Assist the Finance Business Partner and Finance Administrators in implementing improvements to the financial controls, working practices and administrative systems, with particular reference to research and consultancy finance, to improve financial performance and minimise financial risk
  • Manage and monitor financial performance of projects post-award on a continual, rolling basis
  • Prepare and disseminate project financial activity reports, monitoring for under/overspend and discussing these and other issues with key stakeholders at an early stage
  • Hold regular meetings with key stakeholders on a rolling basis to monitor and update research and consultancy project spend
  • Monitor and update charges to projects, liaising with Finance Business Partner and other stakeholders to ensure payroll costs are accurately posted
  • Liaise with and providing appropriate and timely information to stakeholders for claims-based funds to be recovered
  • Reconcile income and expenditure on completed projects, making the necessary accounting entries to enable final closure of project
  • Provide advice on grant conditions and project accounting to Finance Business Partners
  • Liaise with external stakeholders on financial matters
  • Ad hoc support when required

To apply you will be an experienced Finance Professional, comfortable in a fast paced and changing environment. You will work well as part of a team and be confident liaising with non-finance stakeholders. This role supports hybrid flexible working beginning at the start of July. Salary bracket £27,000 - £31,000 p.a.
