Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting our Edinburgh based client to recruit an Indirect Tax Manager.

The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for providing in house expertise in relation to indirect tax matters, and for border transactions involving goods and services.

Role Responsibilities include:

• Ensure VAT compliance for the business
• Advise departments in relation to specific VAT liability and import/export queries
• Determine appropriate VAT treatment for large capital projects, and agree with HMRC as required
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns for the business, including annual partial exemption and other adjustments and corrections
• Review ongoing procedures for compliance and keep the business up to date with any changes to the regulations
• Coach and develop the teams involved in processing transactions
• Notify HMRC and suppliers of ad-hoc changes: VAT registration/deregistration, option to tax, qualifying use of energy
