Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively partnered with our Edinburgh and Salisbury based client, a financial platforms group, to recruit into the newly created role of Head of Treasury. This is a great opportunity to join this business as they continue through an exciting phase of organisational growth and evolution.

The Individual

We are looking for:

  • Experienced treasury professional - ACT qualification preferred, although relevant experience is more critical
  • Experience of involvement in or operation of group wide asset liability committee
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations (including detailed knowledge of CASS, Principle 10, MIFIDPRU, IPRU – INV, solvency 2 regulations)
  • Good understanding of risk management and debt product features
  • Strong relationship building skills, with ability to maintain and grow a network of counterparts and potential counterparts
  • Excellent influencing, negotiating and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to build and analyse treasury models

The Role

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining the group asset and liability management framework including terms of reference, policies, and governance
  • Developing and evolving the client money treasury management strategy and framework
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that the Treasury Management Framework is always adhered to, including bank eligibility, diversification and liquidity requirements, and continues to develop to support business requirements
  • Implementing strategy for the group treasury function including products, tenors, and counterparts to deliver required outcomes
  • Regularly undertaking liquidity stress testing on both corporate and client money books, to ensure our approach provides appropriate liquidity for regulated corporate entities, the group, customers, and compliance with general overall liquidity adequacy requirement
  • Acting as lead treasury subject matter expert on regulatory change, capital structure, and merger and acquisition projects
  • Being responsible for all aspects of treasury forecasting including returns, hedging effectiveness, solvency, and liquidity adequacy, as well as conducting treasury related aspects of the group internal capital adequacy and liquidity assessment process
  • Acting as treasury business partner, providing executive decision-making support in respect of counterparties, capital, debt and liquidity optimisation
  • Having end of line accountability for treasury processes including investment returns, dividend payments, debt and facility compliance, short- and medium-term liquidity and solvency adequacy
  • Supporting and people management of the Treasury Relationship Manager
