Description

Our client is a growing market leader with their headquarters in Glasgow. Due to this rapid expansion, they are looking to appoint the newly created role of Head of Financial Shared Services who will be part of the Finance Leadership Team. The position will be responsible for managing all of the finance back-office functions, ensuring that standards are established and delivered and excellent customer service is provided to all customers inside and outside of the business.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Head of Financial Shared Services will manage all of the finance back-office functions and lead a team of 12, though it is envisaged that the team will grow over time. Predominantly, the team is responsible for the areas of Treasury, Banking, Purchase to Pay and Accounts Receivable and the Head of Financial Shared Services will be involved in a number of company wide business improvement projects.

The Candidate

The Head of Financial Shared Services position requires a high calibre professional who possesses excellent leadership, process implementation and stakeholder management skills. Candidates must possess a track record in a similar fast paced environment and have demonstrable experience of motivating a large team to meet and exceed tight reporting deadlines at month end. The team has expanded in the last 12 months and are using new processes and systems, so this individual will be expected to embed, stabilise and energise the team.

A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:

  • Qualified Accountant with relevant experience in similar role
  • Strong leadership and people skills, with the ability to manage through others
  • Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record of delivering change
  • Demonstrate capability for problem solving and decision making
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to develop efficient and effective solutions to support required finance outputs
  • Self-motivated with the proven ability to work and lead under pressure
  • Proven ability of working with multiple stakeholders across the business
  • Strong IT skills, especially in relation to MS Excel
