Description

The Company

Founded in 1989, Origo Services Limited (Origo) is a well established provider of critical technology solutions to the UK Financial Services sector with strong positions in its niche markets. The first of its kind and the first FinTech in Scotland, the company’s internally developed SaaS solutions include electronic pension transfers, software integrations, online identification, encrypted emails, a digitised letter of authority process, as well as legacy products for data matching and agency management.

The pension transfer service is Origo’s largest revenue stream and is widely regarded as the go-to solution in the market, with a strong market share of electronic transfers. In September 2021 a contract was awarded by the UK government for Origo to support in the development of the Pensions Dashboard. This will allow all UK citizens to find and view all their pension assets in one location, with Origo providing the central digital architecture.

In May 2022, Vespa Capital invested in Origo to support the growth of the highly experienced management team, who collectively have over 100 years tech and financial services experience. Origo has become a fully independent commercial enterprise after being originally set up as a non-profit organisation owned by twelve large global pension and insurance firms.

Origo’s current turnover is £20m with around 100 employees. The business is seeing year on year growth with plans for Origo to at least double in size as it continues to grow organically. The business has long standing relationships within the Financial Services sector with planned adaptation of its existing offering in addition to the launch of new products and initiatives.

Origo has created a unique culture over the years with very low staff turnover, a market-leading strategy and new investment from Vespa Capital. The business is continuing to go from strength to strength to deepen its relationships within Financial Services and continues to provide its clients with an exceptional service and mission critical solutions to industry wide problems.

For the next three years, Origo plans to heavily invest in proprietary software solutions to bolster its recurring revenue streams including transfer services, unipass services and the newly launched integration hub.
