Rutherford Cross is delighted to recruit for its client based in Edinburgh for the permanent opportunity of Head of Financial Accounting.

The postholder will report to the Financial Controller and lead the accounting function, ensuring robust financial control whilst preparing reports complaint with regulations for this multi entity business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts including profit & loss and balance sheet for individual entities complaint with UK GAAP
• Production of annual statutory accounts for each entity in line with IFRS
• Liaise with external auditors resolving audit queries
• Implement internal controls and recommend improvements to reporting, reconciliation and compliance processes
• Oversee intercompany accounting processes
• Support improvements in policies, processes and procedures
• Manage capex accounting and fixed assets
• Lead the accounting and reporting of leases in compliance with IFRS16
• Subject matter expert for all technical accounting matters
• Manage hedge accounting activities in accordance with IFRS
• Corporation tax and VAT compliance and reporting
• Leadership and management of a team of part and fully qualified accountants

To apply you will ideally be a ‘Big 4’ qualified accountant with an excellent technical financial accounting skillset, up to date with all IFRS and UK GAAP developments. You will have experience in capital expenditure accounting, intercompany accounting and IFRS16.
