Description

Rutherford Cross is seeking a high calibre individual to deliver strategic finance leadership and direction within a market-leading organisation. Sitting within a growing function, this position encompasses leading a finance team, the development and delivery of department strategy, and managing cultural change in the context of a transformational capital investment programme.

The Opportunity:

  • Lead, motivate and develop the finance team
  • Provide timely management information for strategic and operational purposes
  • Provide expert financial advice and guidance, including producing, communicating and delivering robust financial plans and forecasting
  • Provide and drive forward strategic plans for financial management within budget
  • Oversee major and smaller value projects, including the preparation of impact analyses and cash-flow planning
  • Develop and implement a financial governance structure, alongside relevant processes and procedures
  • Continuously develop the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of financial reports, management information and financial tools
  • Play a key role in developing business plans and strategies
  • Be accountable for the delivery of monthly management accounts, commentaries and monthly financial performance indicators, providing reports and information to the Leadership Team
  • Ensure recommendations for continuous improvement are reported, considered, implemented and measured
  • Contribute to the organisation’s wider finance function, contributing to the development of finance solutions

The Candidate:

  • Educated to degree level and member of a recognised CCAB accounting professional body
  • Comprehensive knowledge of strategic planning, budgets and forecasts
  • Good working knowledge of VAT and its application in large projects
  • Strong leadership and management skills with demonstrable ability to develop high performing teams
  • High level influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker, ability to develop strategy and implement effectively
  • Ability to drive forward and deliver change
  • Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of key business drivers
  • Well-developed report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
