Description

Rutherford Cross is pleased to be partnered with a highly impressive PE-backed energy services business to appoint the newly created position of Group Finance Analyst. Reporting directly to the Deputy CFO with an in-direct line to the CFO, this role represents a fantastic opportunity for a high-calibre finance professional to join a company on an impressive growth trajectory. This growth will give the appointed individual the opportunity to significantly elevate their career.

This role will suit an ambitious qualified individual seeking a role that positions them well for future progression to the Divisional Finance Director level. You will be comfortable in a fast-paced, energetic environment and be a natural self-starter. While this position is primarily Aberdeen-based, regular travel across the UK and other locations will be required.

Ideally, we are looking to engage with individuals who can demonstrate post-qualified experience in either industry or professional services with a CF / TS / M&A background. Ideally, you will have initially qualified in big 4 / mid-tier audit. Any experience with financial modelling and Power BI would be highly advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with the Group CFO and Deputy CFO to offer financial support to them and the leadership team
  • Planning and executing models for multiple product and revenue streams, supporting monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term strategic planning
  • Generating in-depth monthly analysis of actual Group performance, providing variance analysis and insights derived from actual trading results
  • Reporting monthly and quarterly on specific areas of risk within the financial analysis and forecasts and where appropriate, providing sensitivities accessing a range of financial outcomes in a given period
  • Leveraging various systems and data (including division-specific systems) to produce and improve management information that informs decision-making across the business
  • Preparing financial models and supporting materials for investment cases across the Group, including M&A and refinancing activity
  • Supporting any inward-looking due diligence or similar financial review of the Group for transactional or investment purposes
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the Group and other Divisional FP&A Analysts and divisional financial control function to ensure the holistic view is consistent across the Group
  • Undertaking ad hoc projects and analyses as needed
  • Preparing monthly performance reporting packs for the Group and leading the reforecast and Budget processes
  • Maintaining the Excel-based financial business model
  • Maintaining cost reduction project monitoring, Excel and Power BI-based reporting
  • Leading the provision of financial information to the PE owners, including any covenant monitoring and waterfall models regarding loan notes and management equity
