Rutherford Cross is working exclusively with a large independent business based in Glasgow to recruit a Group Accountant.  This vacancy is an excellent opportunity for a new qualified accountant looking to make their first move from practice to industry or for an individual who has trained through industry.

The role will give the successful candidate a wide range of exposure and the business has scope to reward a hard working individual with career development.   Given the exposure of the post, it is essential that an individual has a strong work ethic, taking responsibility for their duties and a willingness to support the Financial Controller on key objectives.

Duties include:

• Preparing monthly management account packs for inclusion in the Group accounts
• Prepare a concise summary of the trading performance of each subsidiary following a review of their submission
• Support and review Group companies submissions of regular cash flow and variance reporting
• Assist in the completion of the year end/interim accounts, preparing financial statements
• Prepare the financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 & IFRS and liaise with auditors to completion
• Liaise with auditors as required to ensure the statements are signed off in line with the Group deadlines
