Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a PE backed business that has sustainability at the forefront of its proposition to appoint an FP&A Manager.

The Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Planning Manager to join the FP&A and Group Finance team based at the company’s Head Office. This is a full-time and permanent role.

Reporting to the Director of FP&A and Group CFO, the job holder will be responsible for an FP&A Analyst, while working closely with the Financial Reporting team and Finance Business Partners. The successful applicant will have significant exposure to the senior leadership team across finance and the wider business, providing insightful analysis to support continued success and growth.

The Role:

  • Monitor and report on financial and operational KPIs
  • Owner of Group capex approval process providing constructive challenge
  • Consolidate and analyse divisional budgets and forecasts. Including collation and documentation of key assumptions; process inputs; prepare and review outputs against expectations and challenge if required; implement any necessary improvement to the budgeting process
  • Work alongside the Financial Reporting team in terms of pulling together the monthly Board Presentation
  • Analyse and support Material Stream forecasts and plans and provide the Executive Team with insight on variances versus Budget, Prior Year and Forecast, potential upside/downside and other major issues
  • Assist in the development of internal and external presentations and provide supporting financial analysis for the presentations
  • Business partnering, including with finance and non-finance stakeholders, providing support and challenge to maximise performance
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial analysis and reporting utilising Group finance systems
  • Decision support analysis
  • Support for ad hoc strategic projects

Candidate Requirements:

  • ICAS / ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • FP&A / commercial finance / business partnering experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge of financial systems (desirable)
  • Experience managing business planning processes, including annual budgeting cycles and longer-term strategic forecasting
  • Ability to handle large volumes of data
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Effective interpersonal skills, managing communications within the finance team and across all departments in the business
  • Experience in working in teams and managing people, in order to deliver against deadlines
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities and resolve problems with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to summarise/present complex information from a variety of sources in a clear and succinct manner
  • Strong ability around financial modelling, problem solving and have advanced analytical skills
  • Willing to challenge, while identifying and implementing new and improved ways of working

Remuneration:

  • Salary between £70k - £75k
  • Bonus potentially up to 20% of salary, linked to personal performance and the performance of the Group
  • Annual Leave: 25 days plus certain statutory public holidays
  • Life Assurance: 3 * salary death in service cover
  • Employer and staff workplace pension
