Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to bring to market a unique opportunity for our network. A Financial Controller opportunity with a leading engineering firm in the Netherlands. The role is based just outside of Amsterdam and comes with a highly competitive package.

 

The Financial Controller will report directly into the Managing Director and be responsible for the following:

 

  • Produce monthly management information pack and support business operational management with insightful analysis of management information including full commentary, variance analysis against budgets and KPI’s
  • Prepare / review the annual budget for the business and support and influence the preparation of the overall annual business plan for the business
  • Support business management as a key member of the senior management team and challenge all aspects of the P&L, forecasts and budgets ensuring these are robust
  • Prepare the annual Statutory Accounts for the businesses and manage the local audit process, interfacing with Group finance where required
  • Ensure that all relevant taxes are correctly calculated, accounted for and paid to the relevant local authorities
  • Involvement in commercial negotiations and close financial and commercial control of project activities
  • Complete ad hoc exercises and projects as required to support the business
  • Drive a program of continuous improvement of operational business process to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations while ensuring that robust financial controls are in place throughout the business
  • Participate in the objectives set within the overall business and individual company business plans
  • Ensure that balance sheet reviews are carried out on a periodic basis and that accounts are fully controlled and reconciled
  • Manage and develop relationships with local finance and operational teams
  • Management and development of local and remote finance teams (7 FTE’s)

 

Key projects:

  • Standardisation and continuous improvement of MI pack for each of the organisations businesses
  • Implementation of robust and standardised financial controls
  • Take an active leading role as the senior finance lead on implementation of a new ERP system and ensuring adoption processes business wide
  • Continue to drive ERP related improvement and development activities after initial implementation (continuous improvement)
  • Finance lead on further geographic expansion of the business as appropriate

A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:

  • Degree qualified with a strong academic track record
  • Professionally qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA) with PQE consummate with a role at this level of responsibility
  • Proven track record in leading and motivating teams within and across functions
  • Experience of developing outstanding relationships across the businesses
  • A background in organisations or environments with a high degree of growth
  • Experience in presenting at senior management level
  • A proven relationship builder with the ability to increase co-operation across departments and sites
  • Knowledgeable on current accounting standards and any proposed changes that are applicable to the business
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to workload
  • Strong analytical, organisational and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with an ability to influence key members of senior management
  • Ability to assess and drive business improvement projects

 

On offer is a highly competitive UK package of £50,000- £60,000 basic salary plus up to 2,000 euros per month housing allowance plus additional benefits

A Dutch equivalent contract is available for non UK residents of 70,000- 90,000 euros plus benefits
