Description
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a global Plc, based in Glasgow to appoint a Financial Controller. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven individual to play a key role in a global business on a journey of growth and transformation. In order to be successful in the role, the Financial Controller will have excellent technical accounting skills, first rate leadership skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships across the globe.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the fiscal and statutory requirements are observed in order for the company to be compliant with local legislation as appropriate
- Accountable for month end/year end reporting, including completing monthly management accounts, operating expenses, group projects, exceptional items, miscellaneous income and expense, intercompany transactions, tax and interest income and expense
- Leading the Global shared service centre to ensure processes and sub ledgers are accurately reported, ensuring an efficient period close process and ongoing business support
- Understand the strategy and performance of the businesses in order to provide value add support to the business for key business decisions
- Communicate on a regular basis with Leadership and Group Finance
- Developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
- Protects company assets by enforcing controls and company policies
- Pro-actively communicate deviations from expected financial performance and have full accountability of the Finance Dashboard
- Responsible for consolidation and reporting of Annual Plan and analysis of business performance, partnering with Commercial and Supply Chain Finance.
- Drive best practice and standardisation of record to report, Income to cash, purchase to pay and financial accounting processes across the business
- Ensure Global purchase to pay processes are in line with SLAs and that the business is being supported and communicated to on a regular basis
- Global Chart of Accounts ownership and approval role for all entities
- Ensure all UK employee payrolls are delivered on time and accurately, providing appropriate statutory reporting and business analysis where required
