Description
Rutherford Cross are seeking a qualified or QBE accountant with a good combination of accounting experience within a financial environment and stakeholder management skills for a Financial Controller within a major FS organisation based at the Gyle. You will deliver end to end financial control activity, reviewing and challenging processes and providing valuable insight to support the wider strategy. You'll gain exposure to multiple areas of the bank, focusing on a variety of products and gaining an insight into Commercial management operations.
Due to a recent consolidation of 2 business areas, this role will help align and streamline the two functions to operate effectively as one.
You will be responsible for:
- Review and challenge of the financial results
- Support the delivery of end to end financial control activity for the business area within the wider Finance area
- Provide first class support and advice to the onshore Financial Controller to ensure that business area outputs and processes are efficient, while reflecting on customer needs
- Providing well-informed insight and input to contribute to shaping the strategy and operating model for financial control which will support the wider objective of maintaining customer and stakeholder confidence
- Provide guidance on complex business issues, as well as providing input to ensure effective control and risk management is implemented to review and challenge outputs
What you'll bring:
Ideally you'll be a qualified accountant or qualified by relevant experience with exposure to a financial environment, as you'll need to interpret and challenge numerical data. You'll demonstrate fantastic stakeholder management skills to build effective working relationships with professionals of varying seniority.
You'll have exceptional communicative abilities, able to clearly articulate issues and influence and challenge senior stakeholders. As you'll be working in a busy environment, you'll have good coordination and organisation skills to effectively manage your workload and adapt to changing priorities, while ensuring you meet strict deadlines. You'll apply good and decisive problem solving to issues.
