Description

Exciting opportunity to join a leading challenger bank based in Edinburgh where you will maintain robust financial processes and controls for products and services, and to support the delivery of strategic projects and business initiatives through the design and implementation of new financial control procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end financial processes and control environment for specific products and services, including balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation controls.
  • Design and implement new financial processes and controls to support delivery of business change initiatives, including product developments, system migrations etc.
  • Manage the SBAFS consolidation process and upward reporting to Group.
  • Support the production of analysis for the Bank’s monthly management accounts and regulatory submissions.
  • Support the production of annual statutory accounts, acting as the key point of contact with the external auditors for Financial Control matters.
  • Lead and develop the Financial Control team to high performance, engagement and efficiency.
  • Drive a culture of strong control awareness and continuous improvement within Financial and across the Bank generally.
  • Collaborate effectively across the business and with outsourced service providers to ensure that processes and controls remain adequate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with 3+ years’ experience.
  • Significant experience of financial reporting and control, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Experience of process and control design, preferably with some knowledge of SOX framework.
  • Strong team management skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation, e.g. able to translate complex / technical issues to meet the audience's competency level.
  • Highly numerate, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail.
