Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnered with a successful technology business, based in Glasgow city centre, in order to appoint a Financial Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity that will provide the successful individual with sufficient challenges and opportunities to develop their accounting skills and enrich their career as a professional accountant. The Financial Accountant will be core to the Group Finance team in ensuring that the Group’s statutory and market regulations are met.
Ideally, this role will suit a newly or recently qualified accountant (ICAS / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with a strong technical background. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing both Group year-end and half year financial statements and subsidiary financial statements
- Key contact during the audit process
- Preparing month-end management accounts for subsidiary companies
- Working with the Company Secretarial and regulatory matters as required
- National statistics reporting
- Supporting technical accounting developments as and when they arise and on-going technical accounting including IFRS 16 ‘Leases’ and IFRS 2 ‘Share-based payments’
- Managing all Companies House filing requirements for the Group
- Monthly consolidation and cashflow process
- Assisting with the short-term cash forecast model, including implementing improvements
- Point of contact for internal insurance queries and assisting with annual renewal process
- Working with the wider Finance team on ongoing Group corporate simplification process
- Working within wider team to ensure effective M&A integration as necessary
Requirements:
- A qualified accountant: ICAS, ACCA or CIMA
- Strong technical skills and experience of preparing financial statements
- Confident in communication, both verbal and written
- A team player with experience of working in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical with a strong attention to detail
- Motivated and willing to take ownership of specific projects
- Able to produce high quality work while working to tight reporting deadlines
- Aware of ongoing IFRS technical updates
