Rutherford Cross is pleased to support an established Glasgow based organisation with the appointment of a Financial Accountant for a 12-month period.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of statutory financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards
• Posting and reviewing journal entries, ensuring accuracy and control of the general ledger
• Supporting the coordination of the year-end process, including liaison with internal teams and external auditors
• Leading on technical accounting areas such as lease accounting (IFRS 16) and corporation tax analysis
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of financial controls, systems and reporting processes
• Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring compliance with internal policies
• Supporting ad hoc financial projects and providing insight to senior stakeholders

The Ideal Candidate:

• Fully qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA or CIMA)
• Strong technical skills including experience in statutory reporting and audit preparation
• Advanced Excel skills
• Both interim and permanent applicants available within 3-months’ notice will be considered
