Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with an established, growing FMCG business based in Glasgow for a Finance Systems Analyst. This represents an exciting opportunity to drive profitability by introducing, improving and implementing new financial data analytics.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of process improvement paired with a commercial mindset. To compliment the vision of the senior management, experience of interpreting complex data and driving insights to aid strategic decision would be advantageous.

Role Overview: The Finance Systems Analyst will interpret complex data, drive insights, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The FSA collaborates with cross-functional teams, communicates effectively, and supports the organization’s growth and transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle and make sense of conflicting data from various sources
  • Develop and maintain Excel models for planning, forecasting, and analysis
  • Translate data into meaningful insights to inform business strategies
  • Quickly adapt to new information and propose innovative solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective solutions
  • Understand commercial aspects and contribute to business growth
  • Communicate financial and operational insights to all levels within the organization
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies
  • Adapt to digital transformations and leverage technology for analysis
  • Be part of a significant online platform investment
  • Collaborate with technical teams and represent finance-related aspects

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales data, discounts, and return on investment (ROI) for promotions
  • Model sales forecasts and individual performance
  • Evaluate overhead costs and financial implications

Qualifications:

  • Qualified/Part-qualified accountant (an advantage but not essential)
  • Strong Excel skills and experience in using automation tools, PowerQuery, PowerBI, Alteryx, TM1
  • Excellent communication skills
