Description
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a growing business to appoint a newly created Assistant Accountant position. This is a newly created role in order to support the Management Accounting team based in Glasgow city centre.
The ideal candidate would be someone PQ studying towards their professional qualification who has experience in supporting the preparation of accounts. We are also happy to QBE candidates should the experience be relevant.
Role Purpose
- To support the management of daily and period-end financial operations of the business
- Assist with the preparation of period-end management accounts
- Prepare month-end journals, prepayments, accruals, and bank reconciliations
- assist in the P&L and Balance Sheet preparation and reporting
- Provide real-time and monthly cash reporting
- Support the creation of budget and cash flow forecast
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Manage supplier purchases
- Process purchase invoices and issue sales invoices
- Match invoices with purchase orders
- Communicate with suppliers about invoicing and payment queries
- Prepare monthly and weekly payment runs
- Contribute to the budget/reforecast process
- Assist in the preparation of draft accounts and the compilation of audit support files
- Serve as the point of contact for accountants/auditors during the audit or accounts review process
- Carry out ad hoc duties
- Job Description: Qualifications/Skills Required: • Part-qualified or qualified by experience, with a minimum of three years in a finance role
- Experience in preparing month-end management accounts/reporting
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Team player in a small, dynamic, and fast-paced environment, with a willingness to handle a wide range of tasks
