Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a successful Glasgow based SME, to appoint a Finance Manager.

The business is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to run the day to day group finance function, managing a small team, including payroll, credit and financial/management reporting. It is critical that the Finance Manager takes ownership of completing monthly and annual reporting to strict deadlines. The successful candidate will play a key role in projects as the business continues to grow. The post-holder will support the Head of Finance and the accounts and analysis produced will support key business decision-making.

The Finance Manager position requires an accountant who comes with experience of consolidating accounts and managing a small team. A background in an SME business is highly desirable, but more important is that the individual is unfazed by a fast-paced environment, and can ensure tasks are completed. The post-holder will demonstrate tenacity to ensure all required tasks are carried out in accordance with strict deadlines.

 

A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:

 

  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
  • Experience of managing and developing a small team
  • Successful track record of providing management accounting/ financial management support within a small-medium business
  • Advanced working knowledge of and experience of implementing and ensuring adherance to financial controls and procedures
  • Experience of designing and producing financial reports and variance/exception analysis
  • Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Sage Line 50 (or similar accounting software)

 

The Finance Manager will be a key member of the business.

 

The main duties and responsibilities will involve:

  • Coordinate the submission of monthly and annual reports in line with Group deadlines
  • Review results for accuracy and against expectation, investigating variations against plan and understanding trends and KPIs
  • Assist in Group Treasury Management, including monthly cash forecast
  • Prepare the statutory accounts for the UK companies
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for individual group companies
  • Assist in the coordination of the year end audits
  • Provide technical accounting support to all areas of the business
  • Prepare the statutory accounts for the UK companies
  • Involvement in financial systems implementation projects
  • Assistance with other Projects

Basic Salary:                               Competitive

 

Pension:                                     Employer contribution 3%

 

Bonus:                                       Discretionary bonus

 

Holiday Entitlement:                    25 days paid holiday and 8 public holidays (3 fixed)

 

Working Hours:                           8:30-5:30
