Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a local charity organisation in order to appoint a Finance Manager on a part-time basis (17.5 – 20 hours per week). The Finance Manager will be a vital member of the organisation’s senior management team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. The post holder will be responsible for producing and maintaining accurate, timely financial records for the organisation, as well as supporting the senior management in making effective financial control decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly updating and maintaining accounting package to process invoices and payments, developing / updating all related financial processes
  • Producing budgets for new projects, funding applications and submitting financial claims and reports to funders
  • Preparing profit and loss statements, cashflow, budgets, forecasts and statutory accounts
  • Supporting the Chief Executive by preparing quarterly financial reports and management accounts
  • Supporting and advising the Chief Executive with the development of appropriate financial control systems and ensuring that these are maintained
  • Supporting the Chief Executive to identify and manage any financial risks
  • Leading on the annual audit preparation, appointing and subsequently liaising with the auditors
  • Supporting the Treasurer to present the audited accounts at the Annual General Meeting
  • Providing expert financial perspective for strategic planning, risk management and ongoing financial sustainability
  • Reconciling bank / credit accounts
  • Processing BACS payments / instructing centre coordinator to make payments
  • Scheduling and raising invoices and managing credit control
  • Producing monthly reports on income and expenditure for the organisation
  • Overseeing the staff expenses process
  • Overseeing the Charity’s Gift Aid process
  • Supporting the Chief Executive with administrative / other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Fully Qualified, Part-Qualified or ‘Qualified by Experience’ accountant
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to analyse financial data and reports, communicating findings effectively in writing and verbally
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly competent working in a team and in collaboration
