Description

Due to the consistent growth and future projections of the company the CFO is now looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join the team. This is a newly created position within the organisation and requires a commercially astute, forward thinking Chartered Accountant who is able to adapt and change to the needs of a high growth business.

The role requires a strategic thinker and a proactive operator who is capable of delivering more than just financial reporting. It is a high-profile role were the candidate will have a direct impact on driving the future of the business by supporting the CFO and senior stakeholders across a number of different teams across the organisation. The Finance Business Partner will be directly responsible for decision support and preparing strategic financial plans, annual budgets and rolling forecasts. The role will involve financial planning and analysis, business partnering and financial modelling.

Currently, the finance team is relatively small (2 in total), requiring the appointed individual to roll up their sleeves and take a hands-on approach where necessary. Whilst this is commercial role, you will need to be comfortable taking part in transactional finance responsibilities as and when required.

The Finance Business Partner will report directly into the CFO and is required to deliver the following:

  • Producing monthly and yearly financial statements for budget holders that ensure the organisation has an up-to-date position with finances to support decision making including analysis and reporting (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow)
  • Investigating and reporting on budgetary variances, identifying any remedial action that needs to be taken
  • Improving the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on business performance
  • Assisting in the preparation of future year budgets taking into account relevant activity data, cost pressures and service developments
  • Proactively seeking improvements to processes and systems, investigating problems and making recommendations for changes to policies, procedures and systems
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation
  • Supporting the CFO with strategic projects
  • Creating financial models and valuation techniques to support due diligence and M&A activity
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with transactional finance responsibilities

This role would ideally suit a newly qualified chartered accountant looking to make their first move from the profession into industry. You will be an ambitious and determined individual with a strong EQ who can challenge in the correct manner. Given the amount of interaction this role has with the CFO and senior stakeholders across the organisation, you must be an exceptional relationship builder and confident communicator. You will be a forward thinking, problem solver who enjoys looking at process and systems improvement and will play a key role in implementing change.

Key requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Background with the profession or within a similar role in industry
  • Production of financial reports and reporting against key performance indicators
  • Strong business partner with excellent communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight timescales
  • Demonstrates initiative, ambition, drive and resilience
  • Focused on professional development
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency with excel
