Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a global business based on the outskirts of Glasgow to recruit an External Reporting Accountant.

This is a technical role and the business is eager to appoint  an individual able to take ownership of IFRS and US GAAP reporting. Prior experience of US GAAP is not essential. The expectation is the successful candidate will undertake this role for 2 years and then move into a more commercial or operational position, but initially must be willing to take ownership of technical issues in those first 2 years.

Duties include:

• Ownership of technical accounting responsibility for a global group of companies with growing turnover
• Responsibility for managing changes to reporting requirements required as a result of changes to external reporting requirements (GAAP or stakeholders)
• Lead reporting integration activities for the finance function for new acquisitions including acquisition accounting as well as implementation of  policies and reporting requirements
• Prepare and deliver technical accounting updates periodically as new Accounting Standards some into effect and work with the team to design and enforce new reporting requirements to enable the Group to meet new standards
• Ownership and maintenance of the Global Accounting Manual
• Play a key role in the delivery of process improvements both at Group and across the global finance function
• Liaise with external auditors to ensure that the audits at the quarter and year ends are delivered in accordance with requirements
• Responsible for technical accounting training and communication within the Global Finance Team and wider business

Benefits Package

• Salary circa £45,000-£55,000
