The Opportunity

Neogen are seeking to recruit an EMEA Tax Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified tax professional to join a fast paced, growing business. In this newly created role, you will oversee all areas of tax within the EMEA region for Neogen, including: tax provision, tax compliance, transfer pricing & VAT.

The EMEA Tax Manager will report directly to the Group Finance Director.

The Individual

This role would suit a qualified tax professional who wants to develop their skills and experience by the overseeing of all areas of tax within the EMEA region for Neogen. This position will work closely with US Tax to ensure obligations are met for approximately 15 Neogen legal entities in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Poland, and Italy. Helping an already large business to grow and achieve its potential will, in turn, help you to grow your career.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CTA, ICAS or CIPFA
  • Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to carry out the responsibilities listed
  • Excellent personal and communications skills, allowing you work well with all of Neogen’s colleagues and partners globally

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting external accounting firm in preparation of all required income tax returns. This includes oversight of all required workpapers and review of completed returns
  • Working with external accounting firms and international accountants to review year-end income tax provisions
  • Provide required data to third party accounting firm and review annual intercompany transfer pricing studies. Perform interim reviews (quarterly) of intercompany transactions. Provide input and execution into transfer pricing policy and contracts, as required
  • Oversee preparation and filing of all VAT returns with controlling or third party
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of income tax and VAT accounts
  • Research income tax and VAT issues and report on findings; provide recommendations on tax saving strategies to senior management
  • Understand systems requirements related to income tax and VAT; monitor changes
  • Oversee all inquiries and audits for income tax and VAT
  • Assist internal business partners as needed on tax issues; advise Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Accounts Receivable departments as needed
  • Basic discovery and pursuit of incentives within region
  • Ensure all required corporate filings are submitted to the appropriate agency
  • Assist Senior Management with financial analysis and special projects

Remuneration

Basic Salary: £Competitive

Company Pension: 0-2 years of service - Employee contribution: 5%, Employer contribution: 4%, During 2-5 years of service, Employer contribution rises to 5%, After 5 years of service – Employee contribution: 6%, Employer contribution: 6%

Holiday Entitlement: 23 days plus 8 bank holidays. This rises to 24 days after one year of service, 25 days after two years of service and 27 days after 5 years of service
