Data Governance Manager 

Edinburgh (£45-50k + excellent benefits and bonus)

 

Are you excited by the prospect of leading the roll out of the Data Governance Framework across UK & Europe Finance? Do you want to be part of the strategic direction of a dynamic finance offering? Can you influence and build effective relationships with senior stakeholders?

The Data Governance manager is responsible for monitoring data usage against the agreed framework in place. Ongoing monitoring, issues management and escalation are central to the role. The framework is being rolled out group wide and therefore a key part of the role is to continue to increase the scope of this area across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • In terms of reporting metrics, ensure the framework and standards are being followed.
  • Develop and deliver a strategy and develop and monitor plans to roll out Data Governance to other key reporting metrics across locations.
  • Encourage data best practice proactively
  • Monitor and prioritise data issues to ensure risks are understood and remedial action taken where necessary.
  • Provide relevant and timely MI to senior stakeholders
  • Training and support is delivered for stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve data and commercial insight.

Key Skills Required

 

  • Strong stakeholder manager skills in terms of influencing senior decision makers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead sessions and deliver training
  • Continuous improvement approach through personal drive and self motivation.
  • Strong project management skills to develop and drive plans.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving, fast changing, demanding and customer focused environment
  • Good knowledge of financial systems and controls
  • Good knowledge and experience of working in a regulatory reporting environment
