Rutherford Cross is supporting a South Lanarkshire based client in their search for a skilled Credit Controller. This essential role plays a crucial part in efficiently managing outstanding payments from clients while ensuring the accurate and timely issuance of sales invoices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the finance department, building a robust relationship with the customer service department and maintaining first class customer service
- Work closely with the commercial department and operational teams to generate precise and punctual sales invoices for clients
- Coordinate with the commercial team to ensure accurate allocation of retention and MCD (Master Construction Document) on sales invoices, validating certifications against expected values
- Regularly report on aged debt, providing stakeholders with cash updates and forecasts on a weekly basis
- Engage in day-to-day credit control activities, establishing strong relationships with key clients and internal commercial functions
- Keep stakeholders informed about changes in key client credit statuses
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations, providing up-to-date and accurate cash information to stakeholders
- Prepare accurate reports by company and / or consolidated reports for the Finance Director (FD) / Financial Controller (FC) in line with month-end processing and monthly Board reports
- Offer ad hoc debtor and cash information to internal stakeholders as required
- Contribute to the development of the finance system and enhance departmental efficiency
- Adhere strictly to Group Policies and Processes within the department
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested
Candidate Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in credit control, sales, and cash allocation, and / or relevant qualifications
- Excellent communication skills for dealing effectively with internal and external clients
- Strong computer skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
- A flexible attitude to adapt to changing circumstances
- Previous experience in a busy office environment
