Description

Our client is looking for a Corporate Finance Analyst to join their expanding team. This exciting role will involve work with entrepreneurs, c-suite boards, investors and shareholders, across a wide range of sectors. There will be a great deal of client contact on some of the highest profile corporate finance dealings including M&A, equity and other advisory transactions. The role can be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow and will involve working between company offices and throughout the UK.

Duties will include:

  • Being actively involved in a range of transactions including company disposals, acquisitions, debt/equity fundraising and MBOs
  • Creating complex forecast models and reviewing/analysing detailed financial information from multiple sources
  • Working closely with the department Partner and senior staff to develop a financial modelling business unit with the company
  • As required, attending meetings with the Partner and/or senior team, to support the advice being given and to provide detailed analysis and input
  • Researching and preparing analysis to support potential transactions and pitches for new client opportunities
  • Drafting of transaction material including information/investment memoranda, pitch documents, ad hoc reports and valuation reports
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships and being one of the primary day-to-day contacts representing the company on active transactions
  • Becoming an integral part of the Corporate Finance team, working closely with all other members as well as other parts of the company

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Ambition and drive to become a leading corporate finance professional in Scotland
  • Qualified as a Chartered Accountant
  • Strong numerical, financial and analytical skills
  • An interest in helping to develop financial modelling expertise within the company
  • Outstanding oral communication and business writing skills
  • A drive to use one’s own initiative, taking responsibility and suggesting solutions
  • A proven ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong time and project management skills and the ability to organise your own workload
  • Experience in analysing company financials, ideally with building financial models within MS Excel to a high standard
  • Some knowledge of accounting software packages including Sage and / or Xero would be helpful
  • The desire to be a key part of a small, close-knit team which for transactions includes the client’s executive directors and other advisers
