Rutherford Cross are delighted to be working with a highly successful UK-based business in order to appoint a Commercial Finance Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) to develop their skillset and join a well-established team. The role of the Commercial Finance Analyst is to implement, improve & maintain the financial controls and processes in relation to the accounting for the business and to provide business partnering support to the Commercial team.
Ideally, this role would suit an accountant with prior experience in a commercial finance role, and who has strong IT and financial analysis skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide finance business partnering support to the commercial team including the commercial director
- Analysis of monthly management accounts
- Identification and communication of risks and opportunities
- Actively take part in meetings with the commercial team
- Analysis of commercial margins with detailed variances analysis for month-end, forecasts, and budgets
- Analyze and check all customer pricing and invoicing in area of responsibility
- Complete relevant pages in group management accounts with commentary
- Prepare a forecast / budget report for review.
- Identification and communication of risks and opportunities
- Accruals and reconciliation of sales
- Balance sheet reconciliations as required
- Management of external audit for area of responsibility
- Identify areas of inefficiency and lead projects that improve processes and analysis - ensuring continuous improvement and automation where practical
- Review, improve and maintain fit-for-purpose systems and processes ensuring they are robust and resilient for the future
The individual:
- Relevant accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA)
- Relevant experience in a commercial finance role
- Proficient in the use of Excel
- Ability to analyse and summarise complex information clearly
- Highly numerate with strong IT and financial analysis skills
- Possess a can-do attitude and a strong sense of ownership
- Excellent communication skills
