Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a long-standing client who is looking to add a Commercial Finance Analyst to their existing team. This role offers a hybrid working approach where you have 1 day in the office versus 4 days at home.

This role is best suited to a part qualified or qualified by experience accountant from industry with strong analytical skills who is looking to further their career within the accounting space.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

• Acting as the Finance Business Partner to the Commercial team, providing value-adding analytical support to aid decision making
• Reviewing profitability analysis to flag unusual trends and recommending mitigating / remedial actions on a weekly and monthly basis
• Provide sales team with pricing guidance and pricing tool support
• Ownership of the end-to-end promotional process across price discounts and customer investment terms
• In addition, ownership for commercial reporting of the promotional spend across the business including appraisal and monthly reconciliation to the financial ledger
• Financial analysis of new business opportunities, product changes and operational improvements
• Understanding of customer contracts to ensure all commercial obligations are adhered to and accounted

To be successful in this role:

• Commercial finance experience, within an FMCG industry would be advantageous
• Excellent cash flow management and forecasting experience
• Ability to engage with and influence people at all levels of the business
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Excellent analytical, interpretation and problem-solving skills
• Natural decision-maker, able to exercise judgement and take responsibility for the consequences of actions and decisions
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organisational skills
• Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks
• Experience in project management and / or involvement in project teams
