A Commercial Accountant role has become available to bolster the senior finance function, supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner and the commercial team in pursuit of high standards of financial performance.

The role will strive to provide well-presented, accurate, timely financial information for the brokerage customers and milk supply (members and 3rd party) to support and challenge the commercial team to maximise returns for the business.  The post holder will also be a key player in the preparation of in-depth analysis and understanding of customer pricing, milk supply and gross margins.  The role will be involved in the implementation of financial improvements which will contribute to achieving profit and cash flow targets of the company.

An overview of core responsibilities includes:

 Reporting

•  Provide in depth weekly and monthly gross margin analysis
• Explain volume & mix impacts, selling price mechanism movements for brokerage customers and cost of sales variances (for members milk and 3rd party milk supplies)
• Prepare monthly members’ milk payments
• Work closely with Commercial team on business and reporting improvements for key customers
• Ensure all assigned balance sheet reconciliations are prepared monthly, pro-actively solving any variances

 Financial Support

•  Ensure all customer price lists (internal and external) are accurate. Understanding and communicating the impact of the changes to the business
• Play active role in the annual Budget and monthly rolling forecasts with in depth analysis of member’s payments
• Balance regular financial workload with business partnering opportunities with the Commercial Team

Audit Involvement

• Liaise with external auditors for all queries, including gross margins for Bank reporting

 Ad Hoc Tasks

•  Work closely with wider finance team in support of joined up financial solutions for the company
• Involvement in any Finance and Commercial ad hoc projects supporting any financial calculations needed

On offer:

• Basic Salary: £38,000- £40,000
• Pension:  5% employee/5% employer
