Each Cashmaster machine is built to the highest standard with the most advanced technology. Headquartered in Dalgety Bay, the company has offices in Europe, Asia and the USA with distributors across the world. Clients include some of the world’s largest Blue Chip international companies in the retail, banking and restaurant sectors such as Dollar General, LIDL, ASDA, Panera Bread, Starbucks, McDonald’s, AT&T, NAB and ANZ. Cashmaster currently generates c£6m of revenue (c.90% of which is exported) and employs c60 people, 45 of whom are based in Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a growing business with genuine international ambitions and play a key role in its success.

The Opportunity:

Cashmaster is seeking a CFO to join the Board and be an integral part of the running of the business. Based in Dalgety Bay, Fife, the appointed individual will be a direct support to the Chief Executive and is a key hire to the ongoing success of the business during this period of international expansion.

The CFO will lead on all aspects of financial management and have an overall control of other areas such as IT and Procurement. The CFO will be part of the Board of Directors and also the broader Senior Management Team. The SMT includes heads of functions including Production, Sales, Marketing, Technical, Quality and Finance. Key deliverables include:

  • Financial leadership of the business including providing robust and meaningful financial information to the Chief Executive and the Board
  • Presentation of high quality management accounts and other management information on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of annual Financial Statements for audit
  • Management of cash, working capital requirements, foreign currency management and cash flow forecasting
  • Leading the annual Budget process with quarterly forecast updates to support, short and medium and long-term objectives
  • Maintaining a rolling 3-year business plan in accordance with the policy objectives set by the Board and in collaboration with all key stakeholders
  • Oversight and development of robust financial controls and processes
  • All aspects of banking and managing the relationship with the bank
  • Corporation Tax calculations and planning
  • Maintenance and development of finance and accounting systems as well as other business critical systems in the business
  • Analysis of new business opportunities, advising on commercial contracts and pricing
  • Responsible for insurance, GDPR and payroll

The Individual:

The CFO position requires a professionally qualified accountant who possesses excellent technical, operational and commercial finance skills. The role requires a range of financial management skills, along with the ability to add value into areas outside of core finance such as IT and Procurement. The individual should be strategically focused but also sufficiently “hands-on” to ensure the accurate delivery of a small finance team. It is highly likely the individual will have operated within a commercial organisation, ideally within a high growth SME environment with international operations and a high level of exported product. Previous experience in manufacturing and/or technology and/or software would be preferred, especially in relation to understanding inventory and supply chain. An understanding of international treasury arrangements would be advantageous with the business trading significantly in US dollars, Euros and Hong Kong dollars.

What’s on offer and what to do next?

The position offers a financial package which includes a competitive base salary up to £75,000 (depending on experience), pension and bonus potential.
