Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnered with an iconic Scottish business in order to appoint a Business Support Analyst. The successful post-holder will play a key role in providing support to the Business Support Lead as part of the finance business partner function. The Business Support Analyst will be responsible for delivering financial analysis and business planning activities for the Operations and Standards and Performance departments. This is a varied and challenging role that would suit a driven individual with demonstrable relevant experience in a management accounting role.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and delivering month-end tasks on time and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results
- Providing insightful commentary of financial performance against plan ensuring key variances are understood in business area
- Supporting financial controls review of business area, proposing and implementing process improvement driving continuous process improvement, standardisation and innovation
- Preparing the annual budget for business areas
- Tracking forecasts and outlooks of business area annual budget
- Supporting costing requests from Operation team as required
- Delivering Monthly financial performance and KPI packs to Operational team as part of committed monthly schedule
- Managing Balance sheet reconciliations within Operations
- Awareness of key commercial and financial risks impacting department, supporting mitigating actions or activities as required
- Supporting Business Support Lead delivering outputs aligned to group Finance team processes. This includes business planning, project support and ad-hoc support for business area
- Performing the role displaying behaviours and values of a key analyst in the organisation including communication and collaboration
The Individual:
- Qualified, Part-Qualified or ‘Qualified by Experience’ Accountant with demonstrable relevant experience
- The ability to input content into financial reporting that presents financial information in a clear, professional and corporate manner
- Track record of managing their own time to meet scheduled deadlines and to deliver quality outputs
- Ability to meet tight, often conflicting, deadlines for ad-hoc activities when required
- Strong analytical skills on business critical matters
- Excellent communication skills, influencing and building relationships with finance colleagues within a positive environment of professional development and success
