Rutherford Cross is working in partnership with a global company operating in the Energy sector to identify and engage a high calibre individual to undertake a key role within the organisation. The focus of the role will be to utilise existing financial modelling skills to add value to the day-to-day operations of the business.
The remit is quite wide ranging and project orientated including investment appraisal of future developments, due diligence, risk management. This is in addition to business as usual tasks include financial analysis, business planning, quarterly reforecasting, MI generation and process improvement.
Our client is open with regard to candidate backgrounds, whether it be Corporate Finance, Transactions Services, Commodities Trading, or a commercial role in a large organisation. What is more important is an interest in and previous experience of financial modelling and interpreting data. A professional accountancy qualification is preferred although not essential. What is essential is advanced Excel skills and an appetite for financial modelling.
Specifically this will include:
- Contribute to the wider business areas through working closely with senior commercial stakeholders, adding value through insight, challenge and support as a trusted business partner
- Explain complex financial processes to a non-finance audience
- Produce MI, cashflow reports, KPI’s, financial analysis, cost/benefit analysis through effective interpretation of financial models
- Bring a continuous improvement approach including standardisation of tools, processes, and output
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you will be already have advanced Excel skills, an understanding of financial modelling and systems, a commercial approach, and the ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders.
