An excellent opportunity to for an Audit Manager to join a leading financial services company based in Edinburgh
The role of Audit Manager (Treasury) works within the Internal Audit function and reports to the Senior Audit Manager. The division strives to be an exceptional Audit function acting as the 3rd line of Defence while providing stakeholders with independent, objective assurance and opinions that control the key business process while ensuring they are adequate and effectively managing any business risks.
They roles key deliverables include:
- To drive assurance for regular engagements and some complex ones.
- To support the engagement assurance planning, ensuring coverage of all key risks, dovetailing with other 2nd / 1st line IA assurance, complying with regulatory requirements for Internal Audit, and deploying resources to best use.
- To lead and undertake key aspects of the assurance fieldwork, taking responsibility for the work undertaken by the team being delivered on time, fit for purpose and providing reliable evidence to support issues and opinions.
- To understand the purpose of the audit plan.
- To promptly respond to ad hoc requests directed by the SAM / AD / HOA
- To lead the engagement team, making best use of their capability.
- To supervise engagement team members and support them through coaching, enabling them to realise their potential on the engagement.
- To provide timely and well positioned feedback on team and individual performance.
- To leverage IA’s industry leading audit methodology and tools.
- To ensure compliance with Global Methodology within engagements and accurately keep the audit management tool (TRAC) up to date.
- Manage multiple audits / activities at the same time.
- To effectively contribute to IA departmental initiatives as directed (such as virtual teams, departmental projects).
- To build on an excellent IA position and influence the evolution of the control framework.
- To efficiently and effectively manage key stakeholders within the engagement to ensure sufficient understanding of business risks and open and effective discussion on key issues.
- To produce effective engagement reports which articulate risks and issues effectively
- To monitor outstanding issues and ensure they are appropriately resolved / escalated in a reasonable timeframe.
- To think commercially and ensure that the engagement team works efficiently.
- To efficiently deliver audit engagements using tools and resources appropriately.
- To deliver on time and budget.
- To manage the costs incurred within the engagement. Manage audits using allocation of resources provided.
This role requires an experienced internal auditor with extensive IA experience or a strong background in risk management with a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within allocated budget. Candidates will also have the following experience/exposure:
- Knowledge about the relevant business areas/products and related risks within complex financial services organisation
- Treasury Specialised in capital focussed Group Treasury audits
- A detailed understanding of Liquidity Risk Management, Capital Management, Non-Traded Market Risk, ICAAP and ILAA
- Understands the regulatory requirements relating to the Function and Internal Audit.
- Good understanding of Risk Management, The Control Framework, and Governance Processes in order to identify any control weaknesses and provide ongoing assurance.
