About Argyll Partners

Argyll Partners is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join its corporate finance advisory team in Edinburgh. Argyll is a specialist corporate advisory firm with a focus on key sectors including energy services, environmental solutions, and maritime transport.

The team is led by highly experienced professionals with long-standing backgrounds in corporate finance, private equity, and investment banking. With strong momentum and a growing pipeline, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ambitious, proactive, and seeking genuine career progression.

The business offers a collaborative working environment with direct access to senior leadership and the chance to be involved in meaningful transactions from day one. This role represents the second most senior position in the team, and for the right candidate, there is real potential for growth.

Argyll Partners is proud to have been shortlisted for Corporate Finance House of the Year at the 2024 Real Deals ESG Awards, recognising their strategic and technical contributions to UK deals, particularly in supporting SMEs and private equity clients.

Why Join Argyll Partners?

This role offers genuine career progression, working directly with an experienced senior professional in a key position on the team. You'll receive hands-on mentorship from leadership who are committed to your development, along with meaningful exposure to deals across a variety of sectors and regular interaction with clients and investors. In addition to a competitive salary, you’ll be eligible for an annual bonus that reflects both team performance and your individual contribution, ensuring your efforts are recognised and rewarded.

As a Senior Associate or Associate, you will work closely with Barry Wingate, Head of Energy & Environmental Services at Argyll Partners. Barry leads the firm’s Energy Transition and Sustainability practice and brings over 25 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, and corporate finance. He previously led HSBC’s global energy services business and has advised corporate owners, management teams, and investors on a wide range of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, capital raising, and restructurings.

In this role, you’ll support all aspects of deal origination and execution, working on strategic projects across M&A, private equity, and advisory mandates. You’ll gain hands-on experience and direct exposure to high-profile transactions in sectors such as renewable energy services, environmental consultancy, and infrastructure, while benefiting from Barry’s network and leadership.

Our client is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.
