Description
Rutherford Cross is working closely with a leading Glasgow-based hospitality and events business to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant.
This role is integral to supporting the company’s strategic objectives by assisting with both financial and management accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all activities. The role is well suited to a part qualified accountant looking for a hybrid working pattern and to continue studying towards their qualification, there are others in the team with a similar profile.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing management accounts, including overhead analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
- Complete margin reports on time with clear commentary
- Contribute to annual budgeting, cash forecasting and long-term business planning
- Support financial reviews with budget holders to validate results, update forecasts and provide challenge where necessary
- Provide accurate financial and operational analysis to support decision-making
- Process daily bank transactions accurately
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of sales invoices, collaborating closely with Sales and Credit Control teams
- Build strong working relationships across Operations, Sales and other key business areas
- Assist with statutory accounts preparation and year-end audit, ensuring timely delivery of required information

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in finance or accounting roles
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools
