Description

Rutherford Cross is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive PL Clerk to join our client's finance function in the outskirts of Glasgow.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of invoices for both supply and sub-contractors. The role involves accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractor's tax and CITB payments, as well as collaborating with various stakeholders to resolve invoice queries and discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices for supply and sub-contractors in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractor's tax and CITB payments
  • Match purchase orders to invoices and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) as appropriate
  • Prepare and authorise invoices for payment, considering Divisional cashflow requirements
  • Handle labour-only input when applicable
  • Process utility bills and confirm meter readings
  • Complete all data entry within established deadlines
  • Address queries from suppliers, subcontractors, divisional surveyors and accountants
  • Liaise with site managers, suppliers and buyers to resolve invoice queries or obtain missing documentation
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and perform other administrative duties as needed
  • Conduct general administration tasks, including filing, photocopying and post-handling
  • Perform monthly statement reconciliations
  • Prepare new supplier account forms
  • Promote and adhere to Group values, systems, policies and procedures

Qualifications and Skills:

  • IT literate with a sound working knowledge of MS Excel and relevant finance systems
  • Numerate, with strong organisational and administration skills
  • Self-disciplined, with demonstrably good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Team player, supportive of departmental colleagues
  • Professional and pleasant manner in dealing with internal and external customers
