Rutherford Cross is supporting a successful and growth-focused Glasgow-based company to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team. The candidate will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the financial management of several operating sites, purchase ledger and ad hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Overall day-to-day financial management of several of the operating sites
• Purchase ledger, for allocating supplier invoices using Sage Paperless, seeking approval and processing payments
• Preparing month-end payment run
• Supporting the monthly close and the preparation of monthly accounts and supporting documents, ensuring that all reports are ready before deadlines
• Ensuring supplier statements are reconciled
• Investigating and closing supplier invoice queries
• Allocating and clearing Sage bank feeds then reconciling month-end bank balances
• Reconciling and booking turnover data from our Sitelink property management system into Sage
• Working on ad hoc projects, including site cost analysis

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a busy Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant position
• Attention to detail and strong numerical and analytical skills
• Familiarity with Sage 50 would be an advantage
• Experience assisting with month-end close
