Background to the Opportunity

The opportunity has arisen for a Mandarin-speaking Accountant to join our client’s Finance Team on a permanent basis. This position will report to the Finance Manager.

Our client is leading Edinburgh-based company.

The Role

The position requires a self-starting and competent finance professional who will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting duties across the companies within the UK Group.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Processing of complex accounting information for UK Group companies in accordance with adopted Accounting Policies and applicable IFRS
• Management of all aspects of general ledger, purchase ledger, sales ledger and treasury functions
• Preparation of monthly UK reports, including Balance Sheet Analysis, Management Accounts and Cash Flow forecasts
• Preparation of monthly reporting packs and other reports
• Communication with the parent company HQ regarding accounting and finance issues
• Assistance with various aspects of debt management
• Assistance with the year-end statutory audit and tax compliance processes
• Preparation of UK Statutory Accounts

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Accountant
• Mandarin speaker
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, SAP
• Excellent commercial and financial awareness
